Ecological Complexity Lab Elucidating the complexity of ecological systems

Our new research, "Disentangling the drivers of parasite occurrence in a native and a non-native small mammal across a land-use gradient", is now available on EcoEvoRxiv!

In this study, Matan and collaborators investigate the drivers of parasite occurrence in both native and non-native small mammal species across a land-use gradient in Madagascar. By comparing infection patterns between species with different evolutionary histories in the landscape, the study sheds light on how host traits, environmental context, and land-use change interact to shape parasite distributions. These findings contribute to a growing understanding of how habitat transformation affects disease dynamics at the wildlife interface.
